Dear Editor,
The passing of the late Pope Francis has left the world in a state of mourning, especially Catholics for whom he was the spiritual head.
Pope Francis will be remembered for his humility and his humanity. He was genuinely pro-poor and was famous for the simplicity of his personal life.
Following the resignation of his predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI, for health reasons, he was elected Pope on March 13, 2013 and was the first person from Latin America to become Pope. He was Argentinian by nationality and served as Archbishop of Buenos Aires before becoming Pope.
The late Pope Francis will be missed by millions across the world and will be remembered as someone who was never shy to represent the cause of the oppressed and downtrodden. He was eighty-eight years old at the time of his passing.
May his soul rest in peace!
Sincerely,
Hydar Ally
