DCB U-17 Inter-Association 50-over final…
-Upper Demerara suffer 104-run loss
Kaieteur Sports- Georgetown stormed to a 104- run win over Upper Demerara in Tuesday’s final of the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) under -17 Inter-Association 50-over cricket tournament played at the Transport Sports Club Ground.

Shamar Apple (Shamar Apple and Jonathan Mentore slammed fifties to help Georgetown capture the DCB U17 Inter-Association title).
Taking first strike, Georgetown posted what turned out to be a winning 232-4 after 45 overs after fifties from Shamar Apple (56), Jonathan Mentore (50) with support from Trilok Nanan (40) and Emmanuel Lewis (33).
Upper Demerara’s pair of spinner Rusco Anderson (2-64) and Balashankar Narine (2-27) failed to stop their team from being knocked over for just 128 in 34 overs.
Only a spirited knock of 73* from Nathan Bishop, who also copped the MVP match award, managed to give Upper Demerara some hope.
Georgetown completed a comprehensive bowling outing led by the duo of off-spinner Rivaldo Pereira who snared 3-27 with help from fast-bowler Prince who returned 2-20.
Meanwhile, all-rounder Apple finished with the award for the Batsman with the most runs in the tournament with 204.

Most wickets went to Parmeshwar Ram who had 13 scalps while MVP of the competition went to Lomar Seecharran who racked up 188 runs and 10 wickets.
