On my recent visit to Guyana, I was bombarded by the politics of the PNC who are now calling on Mr. Mohammed to form a Third Force to unseat The PPP/C. Now, while this may sound as a novel idea, new and unusual different seen or known before, a third-party force is nothing new.
In the first place, no third party has ever won an election in Guyana, and there is no reason to believe that they can do so now. Any third party must form a coalition with either one of the two mega parties. And here is where the situation gets murky, Guyanese are well aware of third parties that linked themselves up with The PNC. From the early days of coalitions in the 1960’s with Peter D’Aguiar to The 2015 fiasco, every one of those unions, failed miserably.
They failed because of the fundamental fact that they were never seen as equals who have brought the PNC into power, rather, they were seen as woeful underdogs who came to The PNC Party to gain power and prominence.
Secondly, the third parties who joined with The PNC had entered into an arrangement with a PNC who are dogmatically Black Supremacist, something that will never gain traction in a modern society. That dogma taught Charandass a lifelong lesson that he would never forget. So, Mr. Mohammed be aware!
It must also be noted that the idea of Mr. Mohammed being a narco-trader, came from the very source who are calling for his run for office, like others before him they are the ones who come up with these ideas branding public philanthropic figures as drug traffickers and the lot.
Finally, there is the fundamental fact that The PNC is deeply entrenched in rigging to gain power, something that speaks volumes as to the character of that party. The present challenger to PNC Leadership speaks loudly of upholding the “Legacy of Burnham.” the basic meaning which is rigging.
So, let me tell those in the PNC that Guyanese are not stupid, we are wiser now, and with that knowledge we have will make wise, rational decisions to go with The PPP/C.
What should also be of note is that the educated and emancipated few in The Opposition need to make their move and come join the party that spells out The ONE Guyana Theme. In my present evaluation of things, I see two big wigs from The PNC- maybe more – crossing the line to come over.
Respectfully Submitted,
Neil Adams
