Israel emboldened can now defy its allies
Dear Editor,
A defiant Israeli PM has publicly rejected outright a Palestinian state to its long standing ally, US, which is pushing for a revival of the two state solution (BBC).
Unfettered and blanket support for Israel has emboldened it to now defy calls for ceasefire and return to diplomacy even from those in its corner for decades.
The open defiance must be seen as a widening of rift and an embarrassment to the allies of Israel.
In the meantime the war goes on with no end in sight any time soon, with one UN official fearing the widespread death devastation and destruction will lead to a lost generation of young people.
Some day the wind will carry their laughter instead of their scream.
