West Demerara Cricket Association 40 Overs Tournament underway

Kaieteur Sports – The West Demerara Cricket Association has started a new 40 Overs Tournament which is sponsor by Businessman Jitendra Kishour and his wife Neelan.

In Recent Matches, Bellevue defeated All Youths by 139 runs. Batting first, Bellevue made 241 with Lucian Sam 66 and Devon Harris 25. Bowling for All Youths, Anthony Carrington took 2 for 37.

All Youths were restricted to 102 all out with H. Persaud making 28. Bowling for Bellevue, Joshua Loknauth took 2 for 10 and Randy Ramrup 2 for 16.

At Canal Sports Club Ground, VNS Cricket Club trashed West Demerara Legends by 231 runs. VNS compiled 274 for 9, Michael Subadar 99, Aditya Kadarnauuth 88 and Mohan Chaitram 37 were the lead run scorers. Bowling for Legends, Chris Mangal 4 for 18 and Avinash Shardandan 3 for 35 took the wickets.

Legends were skittled out for 43 with Ravindra Ramnarine top scoring with 14. Bowling for VNS Aditya Kadarnauuth bagged 6 for 13.

At Goed Fortuin Ground, La Grange beat Goed Fortuin 90 runs. La Grange hit 213 all out with Tyron Carrington 45 and Naresh Persaud 61. Bowling for Goed Fortuin, Jarmain Ramroop picked up 3 for 28. Goed Fortuin in reply limped to 123 all out with K. Famery 37. Bowling for La Grange, Christopher Gurdyal took 2 for 23.

Canal Sports Club defeated West Demerara Legends by 204 runs. Canal hit 271 all out with Narendra Persaud 126, Vishwanauth Jadunath 40 and Yogendra Singh 36. Bowling for Legends, Avinash Shardandan captured 5 for 38 and Imtiaz Sadik 2 for 46. Legends were all out for 67 as Tikoo Safeek 19 and Chris Mangal 12 were the lead batsmen. Bowling for Canal Joshua Rahaman claimed 5 for 11 and Emmanuelle Martin 3 for 3.

The Competition continues this Sunday with five matches on the West Coast and West Bank Demerara.
