Rosignol Secondary aims to continue CSEC PE Golf dominance in 2024

Kaieteur Sports – The 2024 PE class from Rosignol Secondary were hard at practice yesterday at the Nexgen Golf Academy on Woolford Avenue with Sir Kevon Jawahir, Master Coach Aleem Hussain and Senior Coach Vishal Dhanai on an effort to maintain their dominant performance in Golf at the CSEC PE elective.

Rosignol has increased the size of their PE class by more than 100% over the past two years since Golf was introduced to the school.

Head Mistress Donnette D’Andrade expressed her satisfaction at the progress made by her school and Sir Jawahir, “Rosignol has and will continue to lead in programs put forth by the Ministry of Education as shown by the recent inclusion of sport under the Unit of Allied Arts Priority Programme. We intend to remain at the top of the region and country.”

Rosignol Secondary School prepares for 2024 PE CSEC Golf

Last year, Rosignol Secondary achieved 100% pass rate at PE with 93% receiving Grade I, all elected to do Golf as their practical examination.

“We are extremely proud of the students at RSS, they were amongst the pioneers in this programme and continue to show great interest and results,” said Sir Jawahir.

With the recent push by the Ministry of Education Priority Programme to ensure that all learners are exposed to the five Priority areas which includes a sport, Nexgen Golf Academy has stepped up to provide a Golf coaching programme in Regions 2, 3, 4, 5 and Georgetown.

The intended outcome is to have Golf available in every region and school that would like to offer the sport to learners.
