Sales girl fined for threatening behaviour
Kaieteur News – A 28-year-old sales girl of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara (EBD) appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday where she was charged and fined for using threatening language towards another woman.
It is alleged that on October 13, 2023 at Stabroek Market, Georgetown, Nakita Kaloutie used threatening language towards Samantha Seenarine.
The accused appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts before Acting Chief Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus, where the charge was read to her. She pleaded guilty to the offence and was fined $10,000.
According to the police, Kaloutie told Seenarine, “Don’t make I cuff yuh in yuh face,” as she folded her hands. Due to this behaviour, police said, Seenarine became fearful for her life.
