Kaieteur Sports – Carr Tec Sports Club thrashed Ramblers Sports Club by 10 wickets to win the 2023 Ontario Masters Softball Cricket Clubs (OMSCC) Over-40, B Division T20 trophy recently at Ashtonbee Park, Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.
Canada-based Guyanese Suresh Ragoonauth grabbed 4-9 from three economical overs to help with the demolition job as Ramblers Sports Club was skittled out for 31 in the 12th over.
Apart from Ragoonauth, skipper Azeez Baksh, Safraz Abjal and Monty Dass supported brilliantly with two wickets each.
When Carr Tec Sports Club batted, veteran opener Suresh Persaud hit 21 not out as his team retained the trophy for the second year in succession. Victory was achieved with a whopping 89 balls remaining.
Meanwhile, the winning team collected a trophy while MVP Persaud also took home one.
At the post-match presentation, President of the OMSCC Orin O’Neil, another Canada-based Guyanese, congratulated the champion side while he thanked the sponsors for this year’s edition. He also praised his fellow executives for their tireless work to keep the veteran players in action during the past six consecutive months.
