Lessons from a Lashpreneur!!!
By Latoya Zephyr
Kaieteur News – Eyelash extensions are fun and fabulous, giving you yet one more way to enhance your look. You can ditch the mascara in favor of a flake-free option that lets you maintain those long lashes everyone loves. Getting those much-coveted extensions will give you long, lifted lashes that make your eyes look more open. As a result, you’ll appear more awake and ready to go in the morning. This enables you to get away with wearing minimal makeup, which will cut down on the time it takes to get ready when going out.
If, however, you choose to get eyelash extensions during the sweltering months of summer, there are a few things you should know about how to properly care for them in the sun.
Avoid Exposing Your Eyelash Extensions to the Heat
Too much heat isn’t good for your eyelash extensions. It can cause the lash bond that is keeping them in place to weaken and they will fall off as a result. Avoid direct sunlight when possible, especially in areas where it will be shining directly on your face.
Wear Sunglasses
Wearing shades when you go out will also protect your eyelash extensions from the sun, and the bonding that holds them on will be less likely to weaken. This results in longer-lasting extensions and an overall fresher look.
Use Oil-Free Makeup Remover
When removing makeup, be sure to use oil-free remover. Oil will cause the bonding that holds the eyelash extensions in place to dissolve, so this is very important to keep in mind if you want those extensions to last as long as possible.
Avoid Touching Your Eyelash Extensions
Though it is tempting to reach up and touch those brand-new lush eyelash extensions, you should avoid doing this at all costs. Picking or pulling at them can cause them to fall off and can even damage your own natural lashes.
Wear Goggles When in the Water
Want to take a dip in the ocean or pool? Wearing goggles will help keep your eyelash extensions, and your eyes in general, safe from chlorine and seawater. It’s easy to rub sensitive or burning eyes when they become irritated, which can result in damaging those eyelash extensions. The goggles will protect your eyes from becoming irritated while also keeping those extensions safe from unwanted contact.
There’s no reason why you can’t wear eyelash extensions during the heat of summer. Just remember to follow the tips above and you should have no problem maintaining that amazing look.
