Bandit shot in attempted robbery at supermarket
Kaieteur News – A bandit was on Wednesday last shot while attempting to rob a Chinese Supermarket at Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD). Two of his accomplices were also detained by police following the botched robbery.
Commander of the East Bank police district, Ravindra Stanley confirmed the shooting of the suspected bandit and told Kaieteur News that more details will be released to the public as the investigations progress.
Kaieteur News understands that the suspected bandit invaded the supermarket during the evening hours with his accomplices but before he could have carried out his plan, the owner of the supermarket whipped out his licensed firearm and opened fire.
The bandit was struck while his accomplices fled the scene. The suspect is presently hospitalized under police guard as investigations continue.
