Kaieteur Sports – Modern Optical Services (MOS) fulfilled its promises by extending their support to the National Under-19 team through a sponsorship contribution. Yesterday, at their Middle Street location, the company presented a generous cheque to the Guyana Rugby Union (GRFU).
This financial assistance will alleviate the expenses associated with the team’s travel and accommodation for the forthcoming Rugby Americas North (RAN) championship, set to take place in Kingston, Jamaica.
The championship is scheduled to commence on July 10th and conclude on July 16th. Consequently, the young rugby players are expected to depart for Jamaica on July 10th to partake in this exciting competition.
During the brief ceremony, GRFU Treasurer Troy Yhip expressed his profound appreciation to Modern Optical Services for their valuable funding. He acknowledged the team as the core group shaping the future of rugby for the next five years. Recognizing their well-rounded abilities, he expressed confidence in their potential to excel in this year’s championship. Yhip extended sincere gratitude to the company for their generous donation, which will greatly assist the team as they prepare for the upcoming RAN championship.
Yhip also called upon other businesses and organizations to join hands with the GRFU in its efforts to restore the game to its former glory. He urged them to consider supporting the union as it strives to uplift and promote rugby within the region.
