Kaieteur Sports – An uninspiring performance from the Golden Jaguars saw them going down 0-2 to Guadeloupe in the final preliminary round of matches at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
After a Liam Gordon own-goal in the 18th minute, Guyana found themselves deeper in the rabbit hole at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale last evening.
Already trailing at the end first half, Guyana sunk deeper, thanks to Andreaw Gravillon’s beauty in the 57th minute.
Gravillon, ,who plays with Serie A side Torino FC, scored an absolute wonder of a free-kick for Guadeloupe to put the French side 2 – 0.
Though making a few changes, Coach Wayne Dover had no answers for the French team that seemed well-organized.
The win for Guadeloupe sees them advancing where will be placed into Group D alongside Canada, Guatemala, and Cuba.
