Kaieteur Sports – BLUE WATERS had a very successful partnership with Cricket West Indies Masters Association for its 2023 BIG MAN CRICKET O60s CARIBBEAN CUP earlier this year in Barbados and is now pleased to extend its partnership for this BIG MAN CRICKET-2 in Guyana featuring 14 teams at the O40s age group level.
As promised, BIG MAN CRICKET has now returned for its 2nd edition with a bang with a much bigger tournament growing from 8 teams to 14 teams and stretching all across the country. The BMC-GY Committee was compelled to make one significant change regarding the age eligibility of the players that can participate in this BMC tournament. The first tournament was completed as an O45s one but the organizers have since decided to change the age requirement to O40 whereby players born on or before September 23rd 1983 can now take part in this tournament and can be eligible to represent West Indies at the O40s World Cup scheduled to be held in Karachi, Pakistan from September 23rd 2023 to October 8th 2023.
This tournament will be played on a round robin basis with the top 2 teams in each zone going forward to the playoffs in the 2 semifinals and then the finals. The matches will be of 25 overs per side duration and will be played with pink balls as is the norm in Masters cricket.
The 14 teams that have registered to participate have been divided into 2 zones- EAST ZONE &WEST ZONE as follows:

The fixtures for the first-round matches to be played on Saturday, May 6th 2023 are as detailed hereunder with 2 double headers slated for #72 Cut & Load ground in the ancient county and Canal # 2 Sports Club ground with the finalists in the BMC-1, West Bank Warriors and Essequibo Masters facing off in the 2nd match of the double header:
