Raiders, Royals and Kings jostle for semifinal positions as preliminary round ends tonight

Kaieteur News – The final two matches in the Kevin Joseph Under23 basketball preliminary round play to arrive at the top four clubs to battle in the semifinals are set for tonight at the Retrieve Hard Court in Linden.

The double header has three clubs which are seeking to have the best seeding after they enter the final matches locked on seven points from three wins and one loss each.

They are Retrieve Raiders, Kings and Victory Valley Royals along with the fourth team making up the double header Block 22 Flames who are unlikely to advance.

Last night the other likely team to reach the semifinals Kid Rock, with six points from two wins and two losses, matched skills with Block 22 Flames and were expected to win that encounter.

In the first game at 6.00pm Block 22 Flames are up against Retrieve Raiders, while the second from 8.00pm will see Victory Valley Royals and Kings in another important fixture.
