Kaieteur News – This year, 30-year-old Macio Marcellus Alladin, of Linden, will be celebrating 10 years in the culinary business.
Born in the mining town, Macio was inspired by the stability owning and operating a business created for him. He said, “I was inspired by the freedom and stability I have seen most successful business owners achieve and I also wanted to inspire others.”
Back in September 2013, Macio made the decision to open his own business ‘Alladin’s Catering’. To honor the 10-year anniversary of his business, Macio will be expanding his services back to his hometown.
“I started the business in September of 2013 and we are now preparing to celebrate 10 years of operation… we will have a new location which will be opened in time for our 10 year anniversary and another which will be in Linden,” Macio said.
During an interview with The Waterfalls, Macio shared that his business is currently located at Fourth and Cross Streets, Alexander Village, Georgetown.
Macio explained that his long term goal with his business is, “To expand our services within the entertainment and hospitality industry, whist providing opportunities for creators and artists all across Guyana to be able to develop and share their unique ideas and talent with the world by being a part of our dynamic work force. We also aim to be able to create sustainable products that can be marketed and sold on both the local and international markets and to simply continue to serve and satisfy our client.”
“We provide daily lunch specials from Monday to Friday. The menu changes daily, and our special menu ranges from pastas to provision, rice and noodles to our favorite local cuisine such as crab curry, jerk pork, appetizers, salads and desserts,” he added. For meat options, customers can get, Grilled Chicken, Jerk Chicken, Chicken Nuggets, Popcorn Shrimp (BBQ, BUFFALO), Jerk Pork, Baked Pork, Fish Strips, Deep fried Lobster Tails and Shark Bites and for sides, Baked Macaroni Pie, Potato Fries, Plantains, Steam Vegetables, Wedges, Vegetables Rice and Cook Up Rice.
According to the business owner, “Our stuffed baked ripe plantains are definitely very popular amongst our customers.”
‘Alladin’s Catering’ have catered for Weddings, Conferences, Corporate Events, Birthday Parties and all formal or non-Formal events. The business is open Monday to Saturday from 08:00 hours to 21:00 hours.
Macio also shared, “I was born in the mining town of Linden as the only child to my parents, I’m now a 30- year-old Father. I am very grateful to be blessed with the skills, the will and determination to purse my dreams. I see myself as the divine expression of the universe; I’m creative and charismatic, respectful, responsible compassionate, authentic, self- motivated and humble.”
