Kaieteur News – The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) picked up their first defeat in the on-going Demerara Volleyball Association (DVA) League, after going down to Young Achievers 3 – 2 at the National Gymnasium.
It was a comeback win for Young Achievers, who, after winning the first game 25 – 22, went down in back-to-back losses to GDF 23-25 and 17-25.
Young Achievers then regained their confidence to win the fourth and fifth games 25-15 and 17-15, led by Creston Rodney with 15 points, Klondyke Rodney (13), and Geno Carrol (10).
The GDF side had Omari Joseph leading their scoring with 13 points, followed by 12 from Jahleel Roberts and Tyrece Farley 11 points.
The action in the DVA League continued last evening, where GDF were down to face Castrol Strikers.
