Kaieteur News – Former City Engineer Gregory Erskine died on Saturday following an accident along the Perseverance Public Road, West Coast Berbice (WCB).
According to information received Erskine, 42, was one of three passengers in a truck GSS811 that reportedly crashed into two utility poles and a fence after swerving from a car driven by a 22-year-old woman.
According to reports, the woman lost control of her car and crashed into the median and ended up in the truck’s path.
Erskine and the other passengers sustained injuries and were taken to the Mahaicony Hospital for treatment. The former City Engineer and another passenger were subsequently transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC). He reportedly died around 14:00hrs while receiving treatment.
Erskine was appointed City Engineer in 2009 but was sacked in 2013.
