Kaieteur News- Region Seven police suspect that Clive Drakes, 53, a resident of Half Mile Potaro Road, Bartica, Region Seven who on Monday was found dead along the 14 Mile Trail might have lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.
The body of Drakes was found during the early morning hours on the trail next to his motorcycle. Kaieteur News understands that Drakes might have been returning home from a trip to one of the mines in the area. It was initially alleged that police had given the permission for them to uplift his body from the scene. However, Commander of the District Dion Moore, related to Kaieteur News that this is not true and ranks were sent to the scene to conduct the necessary investigations.
Drakes’ remains bore injuries to his face and body leading investigators to believe that he might have died in an accident. They suspect that he might have lost control of his motorcycle and fell onto the road. Drakes’ body is presently in Georgetown awaiting a post mortem.
