Dear Editor,
Kaieteur News – In September of this year I reported a problem with my fibre service from GTT. I currently reside overseas and I would use Whatsapp and messenger as my preferred medium to talk to my wife and kids in Guyana.
My data plan provides me with speeds of 80mbs and home network plan provides me with 450mbs.On their end it always says that the call is connecting or the call quality would drop.
I made several reports to GTT and after having to wait almost two weeks, my wife was contacted by their in-house technician who went over some trouble shooting techniques which did not solve the problem. The technician advised my wife that it is his personal opinion that the router and cable leading to my home should be changed and he would make the recommendation for same to be done. It has been three months and the problem still continues. Every time I made contact with GTT customer care on telephone number 620-2428 I’m given a reference number and promises that someone would reach out to my wife within 3-5 days. Editor, my kitchen is about 15ft from my router in an open space and whenever my wife is there the quality of the call drops and in most cases, it disconnects. Because of this, I had to rent two pods from GTT at an additional cost because of a crappy router and these pods are just as useless as the router. Their customer service is just as poor as the service they provide. It takes me between 30 minutes to an hour before I can get onto an agent who would always say that they’re sending a reminder to that department that seem not to get it. These are the reference numbers I was provided with INCO334379, INCO324173 02436359, 02102638 and 02003794. My account number is 21965750.
Regards,
Dissatisfied Customer
