Dr. Carpen’s media pronouncements off
Dear Editor,
Dr. Mahendra Carpen is doing a disservice to this nation by his media seeking pronouncements. In September 2020, one year ago, he stated that COVID-19 cases will spike in that month. His analyses were incorrect. Now a year later, probably figuring that he is dealing with a backward population, he is now stating in September 2021, that Guyana must be prepared for an increase in COVID-19 cases. Well, anyone can now see that clearly based on the escalating numbers.
The media must always do some investigative journalism and question persons making public pronouncements. Not just accept it and publish it.
