DEAR EDITOR,
Please allow me to extend my heartfelt sympathy to the Rodney family on the passing of Hubert Rodney who died recently. Hubert was a strong supporter of his deceased brother and did not mince words towards the PNC.
The conversation I had took place with him when we met at the Guyana consulate, and we afterwards became friends.
It was Hubert who told me that Walter’s long-term aim was to merge the WPA with the PPP.
We discussed whether this would have succeeded, and Hubert felt confident that with Walter’s reputation and charisma it would have been problematic but could have weathered the storm.
I have no doubt that Walter would have succeeded.
Respectfully,
Sultan Mohamed
