DEAR EDITOR,
Dr. Walter Rodney [Guyanese Marxist] in his book – How Europe Underdeveloped Africa by imperialism would have been amazed how Black Leaders and many Blacks intellects in Africa and the Diaspora are the ones who are keeping Black people underdeveloped and intellectually ignorant to suit their political agendas to influence and control the Black masses.
Too often Blacks in the Diaspora are exposed mostly to politicians and intellectuals on the Left and not on the Right. The Leftists Black Socialists mostly emphasize ‘victimhood’, the reparations ideology and a dependency on Government handouts.
The Blacks on the Right on the other hand emphasize a more capitalist republican approach to empower Blacks through strong family culture, education and self-economic development.
On the Right – prominent activists like Bill Cosby said ‘Poor Black people suffered from not having strong leaders and Blacks should spend their money on education and NOT on disposable goods. Juan Williams – said ‘Many African leaders have lost touch with the Civil Rights movement of Self-Empowerment – they embrace the notions of “Victimhood”.
Thomas Sowell, Lary Elder, Shelby Williams and Candice Owens debunk systemic racism in the USA – today and blame the economic downfall of Blacks on the Black/ White democratic Welfare System.
On the Continent of Black Africa – Oladayo Nathaniel on his discourse paper pointed out the core reason today behind African underdevelopment is because of mass corruption.
Nuhu Ribadu [former – World Bank Vice President] and Oby Ezekweili stressed that Nigerian leaders stole over US$400 billion from the sale of crude oil. Surprise?
In the Caribbean Black leaders in Trinidad, Guyana and Suriname ruled these three countries for many decades and nationalised the companies in the oil, and agricultural sectors running them as Black Enterprises with heavy corruption that ruined their economies.
Today in the USA, Caribbean, Black leaders, to escape their continue failures are still keeping slavery, victimhood, and reparations to lure and tighten their control over their Black constituents to keep themselves in power over them.
Solutions: Blacks need to subscribe to both the ‘right’ and ‘left’ to their constituents to enlighten them politically, economically and Socially.
Question – Do you think – Dr. Walter Rodney had he lived wouldn’t have written a book on how Black leaders underdeveloped Black people today?
Yours faithfully,
Vassan Ramracha
