Kaieteur News – Queenstown Under19 defeated Reliance Hustlers by 139 runs to win the final of the Devon Ramnauth Youth Cricket League which was contested on Saturday at Affiance #1 Ground, Essequibo Coast.
Queenstown Under19 played unbeaten throughout the competition, winning five games.
Queenstown U19 batted first and managed 185-3 in 20 overs .
Seon Glasgow struck an unbeaten 59 while Carl Gilgeous made 53 not out, Azim Mohammed 26, Ameer Singh 25 and Leon Swamy 20. Shasif Mohammed took 2-21 from four overs.
Reliance Hustlers were bowled out for 46 all out in 15.3 overs, in reply. Kishan Lall got 14 as Seon Glasgow bagged 5-10 in 3.3 overs and Jason Holder took 3-7 from four overs. Seon Glasgow was named man-of- the-match.
In the third place playoff, Golden Fleece Vikings beat United Warriors and Capoey Ladies overcame Dee Angels in the female exhibition game. Awards were given to MVP – Seon Glasgow 104 runs and 10 wickets, one half century, One 5 – wicket haul), Best Batsman – Azim Mohammed-129 runs (one half century, Best Bowler – Jason Holder – 11 wickets , Best Wicket Keeper – Abdool Nadir.
In round four action, which was played on Friday, at Affiance #1 Ground, Queenstown scored 161-3,
Leon Swamy made 51, Seon Glasgow 40 and Azim Mohammed 38. Imtiyaaz Ally had 2-32.
Vikings replied with 35 all out in 13.3 overs. Wazim Mohammed claimed 3-14, Seon Glasgow 3-6 and Jason Holder 2-10. Queenstown U19 won by 125 runs.
Leon Swamy was named man-of- the-match.
Rising Stars Spartans failed to show up for their game against Reliance Hustlers, while Essequibo Eagles showed up with five players for their fixture against United Warriors.
