Kaieteur News – Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Hon. Oneidge Walrond on Wednesday last met with members of the Matarkai Sport Council which included the Chairman Mr. Micquel Perez, Secretary Linden Green, NDC Vice Chairman with responsibility for Sports Mr. Lair Frazer and the Public Relations Officer-Sherlon Rodrigues at her South Road office.
The discussion centered on plans to develop Sports Tourism within Matarkai sub district, Region one.
Officials of the Sports Council have been engaging Government Ministers over the past few days to submit proposals for sports clubs and communities across the sub-region, in Region One.
This engagement was made possible by Minister Housing and Water Mr. Croal who was inducted as a patron to the Sports Council December last and has been giving support to the council in the executive of their functions.
