Schools continue to battle for top spots as play in the Forbes Burnham Foundation (FBF) National Sports Commission (NSC), AL Sport & Tour Promotions sponsored and organised “Hit It For 50” Schools Windball Cricket competition progressed at the National Gymnasium on Friday.
Latest results show several teams recording victories with some outstanding performances in front of a good crowd. Deonarine Tiwari, who starred with both bat and ball, Akalla Rampratop and J. Samaroo were all impressive.
In results from the matches played:
BOYS:
L’Aventure Secondary made 140-2; Jonathan Samaroo 55 and Ravin Paramdeo 44.
Brickdam Secondary fell short in reply at 97-4; Julius Craigen 58; J. Samaroo 4-22.
Tucville Secondary made 149-1 with Dwayne Jones 93.
School of The Nations 108-3 in reply, Kampta Persaud led with 51.The New Central High School rattled up 132-1 with Deonarine Tiwari hammering 97 before returning with the ball to capture 6-13 versus Richard Ishmael Secondary who made 94 with Alive Persaud 58.
GIRLS:
L’Aventure 110-3; Melea Beckles 30, Sarah Hughes 22.
Richard Ishmael 113 -1 with Akalla Rampratop 64 to lead the victory.
Queenstown Secondary 108-2; Kiesha Rawlins 43, Aliyah Peters 40.
Brickdam Secondary fell just short of victory with 114-0; Taquasha Thompson 42 and Ashanti Kennedy 38.
School of the Nations compiled 81-2, Amy Grant 45, Tenecia Noble 35.
Tucville Secondary replied with 85-0 with Kizian London 62 for the win.
The New Central High, 64-3, Tiqumba Hunte 22; Althea Barnwell 2-8 for Charlestown Government Secondary who replied with 66-1 to claim victory as Donna Lowe top scored with 32.
