A sand truck driver is now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), after his truck toppled over in the vicinity of Supply
Village, East Bank Demerara. .
The incident occurred yesterday around 14:30hrs.
The victim who has been identified as a 32-year-old male, of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD), suffered injuries to his head, back and left hand.
Kaieteur News understands that at the time of the accident, the driver was reportedly going east at a very fast rate, when he made a sharp turn. As a result, the truck leaned to the side and subsequently toppled over.
After the accident, the injured man was removed from the vehicle by public-spirited persons and transferred to the city hospital where he remains a patient.
