Another exceptional tournament for Guyanese Badminton champions Narayan and Priyanna Ramdhani at the 2019/2020 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Badminton Tournament No.3 held at the Kings University in Edmonton Alberta Canada Sunday 19th Janua
ry 2020. This is the 3rd part of the Alberta ACAC Series.
Narayan Ramdhani playing for the Kings University won the (Bronze) Third Place in the Men Doubles, while Priyanna Ramdhani playing for Olds College won two (Bronze) Third Places in Women Singles and Women Doubles.
Both players are maintaining their position in the top 3 in the series and are expected to perform at their best at the upcoming Provincial Championships in another two weeks in Edmonton where they will have to chance to make it to Nationals. Last Series, Narayan was the overall Champion and got Bronze at Nationals.
The Results of the ACAC No.3 are as Follows:
WOMEN SINGLES (Priyanna Ramdhani):
Round 1: gained a bye
Quarter-Finals: defeated Kaitlyn Gee (Nait): 21-8, 21-4
Semi-Finals: lost to Eyota Kwan (Nait): 21-14, 21-7
Third Place: defeated Cecillia Wolski (Kings): 21-17, 21-9
Women Doubles (Priyanna Ramdhani & Laynce Donaldson):
Round 1: gained a Bye
Quarter-Finals: defeated Krisha Mejica & Cecilla Wolski (Kings): 18-21, 23-21, 21-18
Semi-Finals: lost to Johnna Rymes & Takeisha Wang (Concordia): 21-7, 21-10
Third Place: defeated Samantha Hsu & Ivy Ung (Nait): 21-17, 21-18
MEN DOUBLES (Narayan Ramdhani & Alex Stewart)
Round 1: gained a bye
Quarter-Finals: defeated Rylan Head & Beau Stevenson (Olds): 21-9, 21-15
Semi-Finals: lost to John Li & Smit Patel (Nait): 21-14, 21-12
Third Place: defeated Noah Jeffrey & Troy Morgan (Olds): 21-18, 21-17
Meanwhile, on the local front, the GUMDAC Open Doubles tournament will be held at the National Gymnasium on the weekend of February 14-17.
