DEAR EDITOR,
As a member of the Christian faith I welcome the announcement of the formation of the People’s Republic Party, otherwise referred to as “the God-fearing party.” This party will definitely get my support along with that of my immediate relatives.
And why is this so?
The APNU+AFC and President David Granger have betrayed us. They promised us a righteous government that is guided by the principles of morality and the teachings of Christ. This did not materialize. The earthly Moses was supposed to part the sea once again and David was supposed to defeat Goliath. However, after the earthly David defeated Goliath immorality was allowed to prevail across the land. Gambling machines are at every shop in almost every village. Crime and corruption is out of control. Our young people have lost hope as they have been relegated to the backburner.
In Ephesians 6:10-18 it says:
“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness.”
My fellow Guyanese, it would take several pages to describe to you the scale of the betrayal of the Christian community by President Granger. However, I urge my fellow Christians back home to throw their support behind Dr. Valerie Leung, Pastor Premraj Parshotam, Pastor Patrick Bourne, Glennis Smith, Pastor Timothy Norton, and Pastor Terrence Joseph. We have a voice as Christians and it is time we let it be heard with our votes.
It is time to vote for a righteous Guyana. Vote PRP!
Pastor Darion Comacho
