Dear Editor,
Our key ally has taken control over our declared enemy to the west, but they have not taken action to have them remove troops along our western border. Why the delay and the inaction on the part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation? We as a nation must insist that our ally, the great United States of America, take action to reign in the military of Venezuela. We must prevent any future action by their military that can place our sovereignty and our military personnel at risk. It is imperative that Minister Todd meet with the Ambassador of the United States of America and urgently request their assistance in removing the Venezuelan troops along our western border.
We have aided Venezuela during their most recent devastating disaster, but they continue to insist on being confrontational, and they continue to lay claim to our territory. Any future support for Venezuela must be conditional. It must require that they relinquish their claim to our Essequibo! Strengthening a declared enemy is utter foolishness and our leaders must not play the part of the fool. We must not give to our declared enemies a bed to sleep on nor a bottle of our rum to drink. Peace can only be made when it is mutually desired. We may want peace, but Venezuela has no desire for it and those that can and have replaced Maduro continue to insist that Our Essequibo belongs to them.
Our leaders must take the patriotic position required for this serious and dangerous situation along our western border. If the United States of America cannot intervene on our behalf, then we must broach the subject with His Majesty King Charles III during his visit. A joint military base along our side of the western border with the United Kingdom may be necessary and most prudent. It is urgent that our government takes decisive steps towards defending our homeland.
Sincerely,
Jamil Changlee
