Woman charged for sharing nude video

A 29-year-old unemployed woman was on Monday granted bail for a charge alleging that she shared a nude video of a woman to WhatsApp and Pornhub.

The defendant Annissa Williams was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. The woman who hails from Castello Housing Scheme, Georgetown, denied the charge when it was read to her.
The charge stated that between July 1, 2019 and July 31, 2019 at Castello Housing Scheme, Georgetown, Williams knowingly or without lawful justification exposed for public viewing an obscene matter, that is, a video intending to corrupt public moral.
The mother of one was represented by Attorney-at-law George Thomas. The attorney asked for bail to be granted to his client in the most reasonable sum.
According to the lawyer, Williams is embarrassed since she is also in the shared video. He claimed that the video was not shared by his client, rather it was exposed by his client’s now ex-husband.
Magistrate Isaacs-Marcus then upheld his submission and granted bail in the sum of $30,000. The matter was adjourned until November 25 when it will be recalled for continuation.
