Ivan Madray T20 KO tourney starts tomorrow Defending champs, Young Warriors draws bye to second round

The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) organised Ivan Madray T20 knockout First Division tournament is set to bowl off tomorrow as the board seeks to complete all of its planned tournaments for this year.
Eleven teams, namely, West Berbice, Police, Blairmont, Tucber Park, Rose Hall Canje, Young Warriors, Albion, RHT Namilco Thunderbolt Flour, Upper Corentyne and Skeldon have accepted the challenge to battle for the winner’s trophy and bragging rights.
Ivan Madray, on the 2nd of May, 1958 became the third Berbician to play Test cricket after John Trim and Rohan Khanai. Madray’s nephew, Chandradat Chintamani is sponsoring this tournament in memory of the Berbice legend who passed away on the 23rd of April, 2009. Defending champions, Young Warriors drew the bye to the second round. Teams are reminded that walkovers shall be granted half hour after the schedule start of play at 13:00hrs while Captains who are not present to spin the toss at 12.45PM shall forfeit same. The BCB also expects all teams to be properly attired in coloured uniforms.
