Its race day in Barbados as the Williams Industries International meet speeds off at the Bushy Park Motorsport Inc. (BPMI) circuit in Bushy Park.
Andrew King, the 2017 and 2018 Group 4 Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) winner, has qualified in grid two with a time of 1m 3.048s behind Mark Maloney, who secured the pole position with a best time of 1m 2.287s. The other two Guyanese to contest group 4 and 3 combined race are Danny Persaud (group 3) in fifth with a qualifying time of 1m 8.119s and Mohan Rangasammy (group 4) in sixth with a time of 1m 8.149 seconds.
Rameez Mohamed, the lone Guyanese competing in group two has qualified in seventh in a Honda Civic with a time of 1m 11seconds. In pole position in that category is Suleman Esuf with a best time of 1m 06seconds, while Barbadian brothers Mark (1m 7s) and Kurt Thompson (1m 8s) have qualified second and third respectively.
Team Guyana consists of Rameez Momamed, who will be competing in Groups 2 and 3 with his Honda Civic, Danny Persaud in his Mazda Miata for Groups 3 and 4 action along with Mohan Rangasammy and Andrew King in Group 4, while Kristian Jeffrey is slated for action with the SR3 Radicals.
