Charity lad, 16, found dead on carriage way

Police on the Essequibo Coast are puzzled, as they seek to determine whether they have a hit and run, or a murder on their hands. They found the body of a 16-year-old male, last Wednesday night on the Charity main public road, Essequibo Coast.

“Family members yesterday.”

The body has since been identified as Renalzo Adams, of lot 737 Charity Extension Scheme, Pomeroon. Based on reports reaching this publication, some time around 22:30hrs, the body was spotted by an ambulance driver, who was heading to Charity. The body was picked up and rushed to the Oscar Joseph District Hospital, Charity.
Family members when contacted yesterday, told this publication that Adams left home some time around 18:30 hrs on Wednesday. They pointed out that the young man, who lives with his grandmother, would usually go out at nights during which he will imbibe.
Aunt of the deceased, Evon Adams, told this publication yesterday that family members were made aware of the incident around 23:30 hrs. on Wednesday.
She added, “When we went down to the hospital he was still alive. We notice that he head had some injuries and the doctor tell we he had a fractured skull and nothing can be done, unless we take he to Suddie.

“The location where the body was discovered.”

“During that time he de deh bad… he de bleeding through he mouth, ears and nose… Eventually he die on the way to the hospital.”
This publication understands that Adams was still alive and well around 20:15 hrs. on the said night, since a witness said, “I saw him at the mall in Charity. He was there sitting alone outside and he appeared to have been intoxicated.
“I tell he go home and he get up and he say he going home. He went up the road, towards the direction of home and that was the last I see he.”
It is still not clear whether the incident was a hit and run, or an act of murder. Relatives and residents of Charity, however, are already concluding that foul play was involved. Residents, who live within the vicinity of where the body was discovered, said that they heard no impact during the night.
“One resident told this publication, “With the amount of blood on the road deh, if that li’l bai was hit at least somebody would’ve hear something. It got security guards at all them schools nearby. They would’ve hear something.”
Residents also pointed out that no tire skid marks were seen, nor was any broken vehicle parts recovered.
This publication understands that a postmortem examination was done on the body yesterday. The results may be exactly what the police need to figure out what happened to Renalzo Adams.
