Hauraruni and Supply registered victories when Upper Demerara leg of the 22nd Annual Al Sport and Tour Promotions Ed
ward Cobenna Memorial Primary Schools Windball tournament commenced recently at Airport Ground, Timehri.
Playing in the Boys division, Hauraruni knocked out defending champions Saint Mary’s which batted first and made 81-1 off their allotted five overs with Elton Lion scoring 59 and Phillip Thom 17.
Hauraruni responded with 84-3 in exactly five overs. Isaiah Ross scored 34, Jadediah George 26 and Andre Alexander 11; Hardson Douglas picked up two wickets. Supply overcame Timehri by four runs.
Supply took first strike and managed 97-4. Kelain Daniels made 36 and Christopher Goriah 24. Timehri were limited to 93-3, in reply. Hauraruni beat Kuru Kuru by 9 wickets. Batting first, Kuru Kuru got to 74-2 with Mark Adams scoring 36 and Mark La Rose 18.
Hauraruni responded with 75-1; J. George struck nine sixes in a robust 59. In the female category, Supply defeated Kuru Kuru by 10 wickets. Kuru Kuru managed 31-4, taking first knock with Johanna Jeffrey scoring 12.
Supply made 34 without loss in reply. Akieb Thomas made 19 and Allison Allicock 13.
