Diamond Thunders emerged champions of the Farm CC and Mahabir Cambio five-over 7-a-side Tapeball competition which was contested Sunday at Farm, East Bank Demerara.
Diamond Thunders defeated All Stars by eight runs in the final.
Batting first, Diamond Thunders managed 38-3 from their reduced quota of three overs. Vishal Narayan made 13 with two fours, while Ubai Husain contributed eight.
Neil Ramroop took one wicket. All Stars, who drew the bye to the final, responded with 30
-2. Extras led with 12 as Husain grabbed 2-6 to earn the man-of-the-match award.
Diamond Thunders beat Budhan Seven by two runs in the lone semi final. Diamond Thunders took first strike and posted 46-1 off their reduced three overs. Ubai Husain struck three fours and two sixes in a top score of 27. Budhan Seven replied with 44-3. Rickey Sargeant stroked three fours and one six in a brisk 34. Narayan and Ryan Charranjeet took one wicket each. Eight teams took part in the annual competition.
