Host Zeeburg defeated Cornelia Ida by two runs to win the final of the West Demerara Cricket Association (WDCA) T20 tournament which was contested on Saturday last.
Batting first Zeeburg managed 203-9. Malcolm Hubbard struck 66 while V. Balgobin made 29, Balbinder Shivpersaud 22 and Andre Seepersaud 21. Richie Looknauth claimed 4-58 and M. Wazidali 2-22.
Cornelia Ida responded with 201-7. Akshaya Persaud slammed 98 while H. Bissoondyal got 26 and Looknauth 25; J. Gomes picked up three wickets.
Zeeburg pocketed a trophy and $100,000 while Cornelia Ida took home a trophy and $50,000. Persaud received $10,000 for being named man-of-the-match.
