Feb 19, 2019 Letters
I have written letters to the press a little while ago but they were not published. That’s your prerogative. However, I sense an agenda in the many letters which some regular contributors are sending in. It would appear that a certain ‘stripe’ of persons are contributing and maintaining the topic of the ‘resignation’ of the current government.
Our constitution is a mixed bag of tricks given to several interpretations. Then the law is an ass. How come illegally sitting MPs can cast valid votes to unseat a government? Right now our National Assembly ought to have been sitting as a constituent assembly working days and nights to craft a new constitution. That’s what we need right now. Not elections with a possibility of returning a criminal gang as in the past.
Some of those who are braying for their next chance of robbing the populace should by now have been languishing in a European jail for their crimes against humanity that were perpetrated during the infamous crime wave.
I blame Mr. Granger and his government for not obtaining the transcripts of the cases concerning Shaheed Roger Khan and Mr. Robert Simmels from the Brooklyn High Court. These men should long ago have been referred to the ICC and given their just deserts.
Some years ago the sitting Chief Justice ruled a government illegal but allowed it to continue in office until the impending elections. The doctrine of ‘necessity’ was invoked. I don’t read any of your dissenting contributors referring to the above. They have conveniently forgotten. But history will absolve the just in this society. We do not need another phantom for president.
Editor I dare you to publish this missive.
Regards.
Cyril Walker

(Kaieteur News) – To live to a hundred: that is the wish.
