Dear Editor,
I see you soaring admiringly in the sky
On your way, away, mighty sparrow
Leaving, O legend, your coinage here;
That which unite us,
Calypsoes… melody of the Caribbean.
Calypsoes, the Caribbean unique songs,
Special, so special, even now we sing and resing,
Body dancing in heart and beauty,
Living on to live on, to the musical beats;
Your voice drumming its ever-alive melody,
You are the Mighty Sparrow.
Spreading your wings to entertain,
You made us distinctly The West Indian kind,
Across Oceans and Spaces, leaving
magical resurging touches of music;
Live on in spirit, and thank you
Thank you
Thank you…
Sincerely,
Krishna Nand Prasad
