Police in ‘B’ Division are the seeking the help of the public to identify a man of African descent who died following an accident along the Number 61 Village Public Road,
Corentyne, Berbice.
The accident took place a week ago, on February 4.
The man identified himself as Godfrey Wayne Gomes of ‘C’ Field Sophia, Georgetown before he succumbed to his injuries.
He was clad in a gray short sleeve shirt and light blue short jeans. The body is currently at the New Amsterdam Mortuary.
According to information, Gomes was at the time crossing the road when he was struck down by a car.
The driver of the car is currently in police custody while his car is lodged at the 51 Police Station.
