A tragic accident at a Sophia worksite left a family in deep mourning yesterday.
Dead is Solomon ‘Salo’ Kandhai, 41, of 145 Cummings Lodge Embankment.
He reportedly collapsed into a pool of water after an apparent seizure.
Passersby found his body in a small pool of water around the foundation that has been dug.
Persons on scene said that he had a “dent” on his forehead, consistent with a fall.
He had been working there for three weeks now.
According to relatives, the father of five was a hardworking man. He is believed to have arrived at work early and started his duties without others.
His wife, Madonna, was on the scene of the incident which occurred around 09:45 hours. She tried to wake him, but Kandhai had already died.
Neighbours said that the man could have lived had there been other workers present at the construction site.
The site is located in the Red Road area, ‘D’ Field, Sophia.
Relatives said that Kandhai would suffer seizures from time to time.
