Bharrat “Doom and Gloom” Jagdeo truly is the Grinch Trying to Steal Power from a legitimately elected government.
The people of this country don’t have time for his silly political games. Just walk on Regent Street and see how they are going about their traditional Christmas shopping with little care for the side show Jagdeo has orchestrated for today.
What is this crisis of which he talks? The future of this country is bright, its economy is stable and strong. GDP is expected to grow by 4.5% in 2019. The minimum wage has increased from $39K to $64K in only three years. As for our debt position the fear mongering PPP should read the assessment of the Caribbean Information and Credit Rating Services Limited, which said that the raising of the rating of debt for the new US$30M Pegasus hotel is “based on its internal assessment of improved creditworthiness of Guyana’s sovereign risk over the last 12 months.”
Jagdeo’s disingenuous remarks to his cronies at the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce should also be exposed as he knows full well that oil revenues will far exceed $300M even by 2023.
Today’s motion is a charade brought by a desperate politician whose tenure oversaw the wholesale theft of state resources, the destruction of a once profitable sugar industry, rampant crime and the murder of young men by a known drug trafficker. There is no place for him in Guyanese politics.
Yours sincerely,
Earl Hamilton
