The Canada-based Guyanese love the budget

The Guyanese Canadian diaspora is extremely pleased to see that the recent $300 billion 2019 budget presented by the APNU+ AFC government was pro-people in every sense. The direction of the budget shows the government’s focus on investing in our people and developing much needed infrastructure throughout Guyana.
The small number of whiners who yell of doom and gloom are people who are panicking that they will be left out of the new energy economy, now one year away.
I want to tell them that they will not be left out at all. The new energy economy will be around for the next forty-plus years and will be so huge that no one political party whether in power or in opposition, will be able to control the people to people networking which will service this new economy.
This people network will be local and fast growing and it will benefit every Guyanese with a better life. There are no politicians from any party who are conspiring which sections of Guyanese will get to benefit. That would be an absolutely impossible task akin to trying to fly by stretching your arms out.
There is only political competition to govern 750,000 people and manage billions of US dollars in annual revenues for decades. The APNU+AFC coalition will win the 2020 elections handily. The APNU+ AFC government has the best economic intelligence and political maturity to manage Guyana’s new oil and gas economy for decades for the exclusive benefit of every Guyanese.
However, logic dictates that the APNU+AFC government and the opposition will coexist respectfully in this great new wealth condition and they will work together to co-manage the development of the country for the benefit of the people.
The realities of local content are not waiting to exist because locals need to see a policy paper, but rather, it is already happening among Guyanese across the nation. The one people, one nation motto has never been so accurate.
I have never met a Guyanese who did not have valuable opinion or a wise idea. A nation born under the burden of slavery is rising to take its rightful place in the world. There is no doom, there is no gloom. Those with poisoned arrows will not find a bow.
