Sixteen-year-old Clay Docton Skybar of Mahdia yesterday died as a result of an accident which occurred at about 11:30 hrs at 58 Miles, Mabura Road.
The teen sustained injuries to his hips, neck, and elbows. He was immediately rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
It was revealed that Skybar, along with two others, was sitting on the tray of a motor pick-up at the time of the accident.
The pick-up with the licence plate number GTT 2431 was headed in the direction of Mahdia when it collided with motor lorry GPP 4923 with trailer THH 9317 that was loaded with timber.
The vehicles reportedly crashed into each other while negotiating a turn.
The driver of the lorry, Shabaz Khan and the driver of the pick-up Vincent Lumelino, are in police custody assisting with investigations.
