Centenarian receives special birthday visit from Public Health Minister

On December 8, Ada Robertson celebrated her 101st birth anniversary. Visiting her on her special day was, Minister of Public Health Volda Lawrence, who presented the celebrant and her family

Usually, Minister Lawrence visits those members of society who have contributed to the development of Guyana. More so, she calls on persons who have reached significant milestones and honours them in a special way.
Ada Robertson, who currently resides at 85 David Street Kitty, was born in 1917. She spent most of her childhood days in Hadfield Street, Werk-en-Rust. During her adult life, she was self-employed as a caterer since she had a love for baking.
The Centenarian is the mother to seven, two of which are now deceased. She is also the grandmother of 25 and great-grandmother of 20. In her spare time, Ada enjoys soap operas and is quite interested in the daily news.
When asked what was her secret to reaching such a milestone she responded “The grace of God has faithfully kept me in good health and strength.” Additionally, this long life she enjoys is complemented by the practice of healthy eating.
Ada Robertson’s simple advice to youths is to do ‘what is right’. This simple phrase sets one on the pathway to achieving greater things and living a happy life. (Delicia Haynes)
