The 2018 edition of the Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPLF) was contested on Sunday last at Saints Stanislaus College Auditorium where a total of 28 records were set by 13 of the 26 competitors, half of the athletes that took to the platform.
Kaieteur Sport is pleased to introduce you to these courageous athletes whose disciplined work saw them reaping the rewards of being the best whilst setting national standards. These athletes have also placed themselves into contention of making the national team for overseas competitions in 2018.
Junica Pluck (Space Gym), 63kg Open Equipped Category, Squat (135.5kg), Bench Press (68.0kg), Deadlift (133.0kg) and Total (336.5kg).
Runita White (Buddys Gym), Junior Classic 84+kg Class, Squat (182.5kg), Bench Press (75.0kg), Deadlift (196.0kg) and Total (453.5kg).
Lisa Oudit (Buddys Gym), Open Classic 84kg Class, Deadlift (151.0kg) and Total (336.0kg).
