Members of the Guyana Police Force are searching for a taxi driver who fled the scene of an accident, leaving his vehicle with 47 pounds of marijuana stashed inside.
The driver abandoned the car on the Number Six Public Road, West Coast of Berbice after crashing into the rear of another vehicle.
A search conducted on the vehicle revealed several parcels of compressed cannabis, police said.
Both vehicles and illegal drugs have been lodged pending the outcome of the investigation.
