Dear Editor
The results for the Local Government Election (LGE) showed that approximately 32% of the voting population cast their votes while the remaining 68% did not vote.
What this means is that about 68% of the people rejected both the governing APNU+AFC Government of President David Granger and the Main Opposition PPP/C.
This is good news as the majority of Guyanese are not about to give their blind loyalty to either the PNCR led APNU+AFC nor the PPP led PPP/C. We may have finally broken the back of racial voting in Guyana. There is still more to be done.
The opportunity now exists for a new political party to inspire and impassion Guyanese to capture this 68% who did not vote.
Is there any dynamic Leader, not tainted by the politics of the past, who can rise to the occasion?
Yours faithfully
Sean Ori
