The Demerara Harbour Bridge is scheduled to be closed to vehicular traffic for five hours today as a result of needed maintenance on two transom beams.
According to the bridge’s General Manager Rawlston Adams, the replacement of the beams is simply a part of maintenance. He explained that the beams were inspected, and revealed the need to be changed.
The bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic at 10:00 pm today and reopen at 3:00 am tomorrow in order to accommodate the changing of the beams.
