The Guyana Open Golf tournament is set for an exciting climax today at the Lusignan Golf Course with a number of golfers vying for top podium spots in their respective categories.
Guyanese Shafie Mo is leading the 19-28 flight with 84 gross and 65 net followed by Guillermo Escaragga of Colombia with 87 gross and 66 net, Romel Bhagwandin of Guyana 89 gross and 70 net and Colombian Angel Amaris on 98 gross and 70 net.
Esan Shamshudin of Canada is leading the senior flight with 88 gross and 65 net while Apti (only name given) is in second place with 105 gross and 77 net and Maurica Solomon is in third position on 104 gross and 80 net.
Guyanese Dr. Joaan Deo, who recently won the Suriname Invitational tournament, shot 85 gross and 69 net to take the lead in the female segment, while Shanella Webster is following her closely with scores of 86 gross and 70 net; defending champions Christine Sukhram is in third place with 88 gross and 77 net.
The 0-9 Flight is being headed by defending champion Avinash Persaud of Guyana who shot 69 gross and 67 net followed by his Guyanese team mates Mohanlall Dinanauth with 74 gross and 69 flight and Kevin Dinanauth on 75 gross and 68 net.
Ravi Persaud of Guyana is leading the 10-18 flight on 84 gross and 67 net, while Mahase Shivray is in second place on 84 gross and 68 net followed by Max Persaud on 85 gross and 69 net.
