After several rounds of negotiation, ANSA McAL Trading Limited and the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT) have sealed a partnership for GTT’s highly anticipated Pinktober event.
The occasion is one which will see a month-long awareness campaign with the main goal of raising funds for the fight against Breast Cancer.
Delivering brief remarks at a simple ceremony that was held Friday was Errol Nelson, Head of ANSA McAL’s Non-Alcoholic Portfolio. Nelson expressed that his company is proud to be the official beverage sponsor for an event which has become synonymous with good corporate responsibility.
Nelson shared, “GTT’s fantastic Pinktober as we all know, is geared towards raising funds for the fight against breast cancer and cancer on a whole…I would like to officially extend appreciation to GTT for having ANSA McAL as the official beverage sponsor of the GTT Pinktober 5K, 10K and 21 Walk/Run/Cycle Event…Additionally, ANSA McAL has been known over the years for distributing brands that are of the highest quality and iCool water is one of these brands. In fact, iCool water will be responsible for rehydrating all the participants at the event and along the route.”
The ANSA McAl official said that special mention should be made of Mr. Jason Lewis, Ms. Devi Sookhdeo and Ms. Samantha Gooden of GTT; and Mr. Kelvin Singh, Nigel Worrell, Fharis Mohamed and Ms. Gabriel Lopes of ANSA McAL. Nelson stressed that these individuals over the past week and a half, worked from the wee hours in the morning to the very late hours at nights, holding discussions via various mediums to broker this partnership.
The official said, “It should be noted that for this deal to get done, we all walked a tight-rope like some of the performers in the Squarez brothers’ circus and even to the very end of the limb. But in the end, we all came out winners because we had one common goal and that was to fight against cancer, a disease that is plaguing our society.”
Public Relations and Corporate Communications Manager for GTT, Jasmin Harris, noted that her company is delighted to partner with ANSA McAL for Pinktober 2018 to help raise cancer awareness in Guyana. She said, “Together we can make a difference and continue to champion this cause to ensure all Guyanese are healthy and that our women have regular pap smears and mammograms and our men have their PSAs.”
Kelvin Singh, Beverage Divisional Head for Ansa McAL Trading Limited, was also keen to express thanks for the opportunity provided by GTT.
He said, “We are very proud to partner with GTT and the other companies to raise funds that will be used to aid persons with breast cancer and fund research. To the persons that are fighting breast cancer…please continue the fight, and their family and friends…please continue to support.
This will serve as an inspiration to persons now being diagnosed.”
The Divisional Head assured that this partnership will continue to grow stronger in the coming years.
